Jason Benson, Trumpet

Jason picked up his trumpet over 30 years ago and has been playing ever since. A highlight from his early years playing was being featured as a Fanfare Trumpeter in the world famous Tournament of Roses Parade for the Queens court. Right out of high school Jason joined the champion ranks marching with the Drum Corps International renowned champions Blue Devils.  Throughout his college career, Jason (solo, chair, masterclasses...)  before studying trumpet under Steve Hawk at Slippery Rock University. Jason has been an active player in the greater Los Angeles area and has enjoyed playing all styles of music from sitting in the pit for musical favorites like Mary Poppins and West Side Story to playing great orchestral works with the Redlands Community Orchestra and many great charts with Empire Swing and Sozo Jazz Bands.
